Given that smartwatches are relatively new, charging methods for the watches are pretty standard and nothing to shout about. However a design firm out of Sydney, Australia by the name of Aerios has decided that perhaps it’s time to jazz things up a bit. They have recently unveiled a smartwatch charging dock dubbed the Moduul that has been designed for the LG G Watch in mind.
The dock will charge your smartwatch but due to the way it has been designed, users will be able to use the dock and their smartwatch as a miniature clock that they can place by their bedside or on their table while it charges. As you can see in the image above, the dock will prop up the watch with the face of the watch angled towards the user.
Aerios will also be giving the dock a somewhat “premium” finish as the dock has been made out of materials such as wood and anodized aluminum, which means that it should look pretty classy and feel pretty sturdy at the same time. For those interested in checking it out, Aerios has launched an Indiegogo campaign to help complete the remaining funding that they need for the dock.
However the good news is that whether the campaign gets funded or not, the dock will still be produced. Its creators claim that the funding raised from Indiegogo will go towards funding the tools used to craft the watch, so if you’d like to give the company a helping hand, then pledging to their campaign could be a good way to go. In the meantime what do you guys think? Any takers for the Moduul smartwatch dock?
