That being said, it seems that Tesla is hoping to change that. Earlier this year, the company announced plans that they would be building a network of charging stations across China to help facilitate the rollout of electric cars, and now they have confirmed that they will indeed be doing that.
Tesla has confirmed to The Next Web where they revealed that they have reached an agreement with China Unicom which will see them build 400 charging points in 120 Chinese cities and 20 superchargers in 20 cities. Tesla expects these charging stations to be completed by the end of the year and will be available to Tesla customers for free.
It sounds like a pretty good idea and seems like a good place to start if they are hoping that more customers hop aboard the electric vehicle bandwagon. No word on whether Tesla plans to expand their plan to other parts of the world where Tesla vehicles are available, but here’s hoping they do!
