About two months ago T-Mobile made its uncarrier 6.0 announcement. At the event the carrier unveiled its Music Freedom program which allows subscribers to stream music from supported services without having it impact their data bucket. This program allows T-Mobile subscribers to stream as much music as they want without having to worry about running out of LTE data. Today T-Mobile has announced the addition of six new music streaming services to the Music Freedom program, offering subscribers even more variety of streaming services.
AccuRadio, Black Planet, Grooveshark, Radio Paradise, Rdio and Songza are now supported by the Music Freedom program. Anyone who subscribes to these services can now stream music from them, they will not need to worry about running out of data or having to pay overage charges.
The carrier recently conducted a social voting poll allowing fans to decide which service it should add next to Music Freedom. “Three-quarters of a million people” are claimed to have voted with majority of the votes going in Google Play Music’s favor. T-Mobile has confirmed that it is going to add Google Play Music to Music Freedom “later this year.”
Services that are already supported by this program include iHeartRadio, iTunesRadio, Pandora, Rhapsody, Samsung Milk and Spotify. The carrier says that it wants to add “every possible music streaming service” to Music Freedom. Services which want to sign up for this program can apply though T-Mobile’s open submission process.
