While we might be focused on the upcoming launch of Moto X+1, let us not forget that the original Moto X is one of Motorola’s best selling smartphones from 2013. Not only does it have impressive specifications but its relatively competitive price tag makes it a compelling option for prospective customers. Good news today for those who own this device on the no.3 carrier in the U.S. Sprint Moto X Android 4.4.4 update has finally been released.

The previous Android 4.4.3 update for this smartphone was released back in June. Like its successor it too was an incremental update so users shouldn’t expect any major new features or changes to the overall operating system.

Android 4.4.4 does include stability, framework and security fixes, accuracy improvements for the power profile as well as an update for OpenSSL, which secures the device against Heartbleed. So it goes without saying that in order to protect your privacy its essential that you download this update as soon as it hits your device.

The update also brings improved camera image quality as well as better exposure consistency, more realistic flash coloring and improved photos from front camera in low light conditions. The Phone dialer user interface gets a refresh in Android 4.4.4, it also brings ability to pause video recording with a pause/resume button that now sits on the viewfinder.

Sprint Moto X Android 4.4.4 update is rolling out now and it should go live across all regions in the near future.
