Sprint Could Offer Sharp Aquos Crystal Smartphone

When it comes to smartphones in Japan, that particular market happens to be an entirely new game altogether – as many handsets that hail from the Land of the Rising Sun is not capable of being used elsewhere due to the different bands that they run on. Of course, life is about exceptions from time to time, and it seems that one of the two, the Sharp Aquos Crystal and the Sharp Aquos Crystal X will be making their way stateside. The former would be the one that makes the cut

Here is a little bit of nitty gritty concerning both models – the Sharp Aquos Crystal will measure 5” x 2.6” x 0.39”, where it tips the scales at 5 ounces. In terms of its specifications, it might look rather premium, but it resides somewhere in the mid-range realm. You get a 5” 720p display, a quad-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 chipset, 1.5GB RAM, 8GB of internal memory, and Android 4.4.2 KitKat as the operating system of choice. There is also a Harman Kardon sound effects engine that supports “Clari-Fi”, “LiveStage” streaming, and native compatibility with the Harman Kardon ONYX Studio Bluetooth speaker.

It looks set to roll out this August 29th over on Sprint, at least according to the folks over at SoftBank, and pre-orders will kick off tomorrow.
