For those of you who are at loggerheads with your best friend over the hardware specifications found in the Sony Xperia Z3 as well as its predecessor, the Xperia Z2, you might want to take note that the former has appeared over in the GFXBench database. However, things are never as straightforward as they look like, which is why the Sony Xperia Z3 is known as the D6603 in the benchmark.
As for the difference between the Sony Xperia Z3 and its predecessor, well, it seems that the newer handset would arrive in a more compact design at 7.3mm thin, but apart from that, everything else underneath the hood seems to be the same – nothing has changed.
For instance, the 5.1″ display will sport 1080p (Full HD) resolution, where it will be powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 801 chipset, carries 3GB RAM, and accompanied by a 20MP camera to boot, which are all on the Xperia Z2. Of course, until the final device shows up in the market, it can be pretty difficult to say that everything mentioned above has been set in stone, since there is still the possibility of last minute changes as well as the introduction of a new curved camera sensor from Sony that will make the cut. We do look forward to the Sony Xperia Z3’s announcement early next month at IFA 2014 in Berlin, Germany.
