Assuming the rumors are right on the money, there is a very good chance that the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 could be announced at IFA 2014. In fact Samsung has already sent out the invites for an event that they will be hosting on the 3rd of September, which many have assumed will be about the Galaxy Note 4.
That being said apart from the usual hardware features, what can we expect from the upcoming phablet from Samsung that will set it apart from the rest? Well according to a report from SamMobile, perhaps that unique feature will come in the form of an Ultrasonic cover designed specifically for the Galaxy Note 4 in mind.
What’s an Ultrasonic cover, you ask? Well apparently it is an accessory designed for the visually impaired in mind. Basically what the cover does is that it contains an ultrasonic sensor which has the ability to detect nearby objects in front of the user and tell them about it, so that they will be able to avoid walking into them.
However according to an alleged product description, it’s not meant to be a replacement for a cane or mobility aid, but perhaps act more as a complementary device. “It cannot replace a cane and should never be used as a mobility aid or substitute for any mobility aid tool. It must always be used in combination with a cane, a dog guide, or a human guide because, by itself, it does not provide information necessary for safe travel.”
No doubt this will probably appeal to the visually impaired but as it stands it is still a rumor at this point in time, so do take it with a grain of salt for now and be sure to check back with us in September for the details. In the meantime what do you guys make of it? A good idea?
