Samsung’s metal touting Galaxy Alpha smartphone is probably the world’s worst kept secret right now. There is no end to the rumors and leaks about this device that we have already seen. Plenty of pictures are available online for those who fancy a glimpse of this smartphone. However Samsung is yet to make an official announcement and the company hasn’t even hinted as yet when it plans on doing that. A new report coming out of Korea suggests that Samsung is going to unveil the Galaxy Alpha this Wednesday, August 13th.
It should be kept in mind though that this isn’t the first purported announcement date for the Galaxy Alpha. Previous reports had pegged the unveiling at August 4th but obviously the device was never shown off on that date.
There’s one little thing that adds weight to reports of an announcement on the 13th. Last week the company held a low key event in Moscow in which the Galaxy Alpha was shown off to a selected people. The number of leaks has also significantly increased in this period so its possible a formal unveiling might not be that far off.
Apart from its Exynos process and metal build the device is reportedly carrying a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED display, 2GB RAM, fingerprint scanner and heart rate monitor, 12 megapixel rear camera and Android 4.4 KitKat.
