Android-x86 happens to be a modified version of the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) code, where it was specially designed in order to run on devices that have with AMD or Intel chips, and it looks as though the team behind it has just rolled out the first stable build that has solid grounding based on Android 4.4 KitKat.
One will be able to install it on a PC in the same manner that you would when it comes to install Ubuntu or a different Linux-based operating system, with the option to do so without having to install anything by using the LiveCD. Right now, the latest version of the software stands at Android-x86 4.4-r1 if you are interested.
