Most compact cameras are pretty simple in terms of their design, but then again with their affordable price tags, we guess you can’t really ask for much, can you? Well if you’re looking for a compact camera that can make more of a statement, you might be interested to learn that Ricoh has recently announced the Pentax Q-S1 compact camera with interchangeable lenses.
The camera will sport a 12MP 1/1.7-inch back-illuminated CMOS sensor and will come with an ISO sensitivity of up to 12,800, although chances are with its size, we doubt it will be able to handle high ISO images as well as a professional DSLR, but we suppose the option is there if you wish to use it.
The camera will also feature interchangeable lenses so if you’re not happy with the one you’ve got, you can always go look for compatible lenses to add to it. The camera will also feature a built-in shake-reduction system, thanks to its “state-of-the-art” gyro sensor, and will also come bundled with a bunch of photo editing tools that can be done right in the camera itself.
In order to make the camera more appealing visually, Ricoh has offered up four standard color combinations, as well as 36 additional body and grip colors that users will be able to mix and match depending on the style/look that they are going for. If this sounds like a camera you might be interested in, Ricoh expects that it will go on sale this August for a price of $499.95.
