Even though most major companies have released smartwatches as their wearable devices, Google has taken a completely different route. Google Glass is the company’s wearable device which has been around for over a year now. Only recently it became available for purchase to the public, previously an invite was required. Countless software updates and apps have been released for the device since it was launched, today it gets Pandora, a popular music streaming service.
Pandora is also widely used for its internet radio stations, users also have the ability to create their own stations, so there’s never a shortage of music choice when it comes to Pandora. According to the company’s head of business development, Ian Geller, the app has been released to gauge how well internet radio services and wearable devices work together.
Glass users will be able to pick stations through voice commands and even create a new one. The touchpad can be used to pause, stop and skip tracks.
The app came into being as a result of an internal hackathon project at Pandora. It can play music through the single earbud that’s included with every Glass unit, through a double-earbud accessory which can be purchased separately or using the built-in speaker as well as bone conduction.
