We have been hearing about the Olympus PEN E-PL7 for several months now and if you’re a fan of Olympus’ PEN series of cameras, you might be interested to learn that according to Digicame-Info (via PhotoRumors), word on the street has it that the Olympus PEN E-PL7 will be announced on the 30th of August, meaning that your wait should be over in about 3 weeks’ time.
For those who haven’t been following the news, the E-PL7 is said to be the successor of the E-PL6, a Micro Four Thirds camera from Olympus. Given that the E-PL6 was launched back in 2013, we guess a refresh a year later isn’t completely out of the question. The specifications of the E-PL7 are just rumors for now, but hopefully we will learn more on the 30th of August.
In the meantime for those wondering about the rumors, they claim that the Olympus E-PL7 will pack a 16MP sensor in its body. It has also been rumored to feature 81 AF points, 8fps continuous shooting, and a 3-inch vari-angle touchscreen LCD. However these specifications sounds a bit like the E-PL6 which has us believing that perhaps the E-PL7 might not necessarily be a huge upgrade.
Either way if you’re looking for a new camera, be sure to check back with us on the 30th of August to see if there are any official details that can be had!
