According to the report, a man in the UK was recently charged with murder after he used the Find My iPhone feature to track down the man responsible for stealing his son’s iPhone at knifepoint. Derek Grant, the father, tracked down the man who stole the phone and demanded for it back.
However the thug pulled a knife on him and blinded him in one eye. According to Grant, this was what caused him to act in self-defense by pulling out his own knife where he repeatedly stabbed the thief. Surprisingly the thief survived and was found later and taken to a hospital where he died of cardiac arrest.
Grant has since pleased to culpable homicide at the High Court in Glasgow and in a statement he made to the court, “I wish to declare for the record that at the time of this incident, I was acting in self-defense.” He is currently awaiting sentencing in September. Pretty tragic stuff, huh?
