Some gamers believe that with gaming keyboards and mice, they are able to perform better than with regular keyboards and mice, and to a certain extent there is some truth to their justification. For example gaming keyboards and mice tend to have more buttons which gamers can assign with macros.
Gaming mice also tend to be faster and more sensitive, which is important when playing FPS games. That being said if you’re in the market for new keyboards and mice, Mad Catz might have something for you as they have recently added some new products to their Tournament Edition range of gaming peripherals.
Starting with the keyboard, the Tournament Edition S.T.R.I.K.E keyboard will feature an aluminum chassis and will sport 109 mechanical keys of the “brown” variety. The keyboard will sport a 30-key rollover and have anti-ghosting functionality. It will also feature multi-zone backlit illumination and dedicated macro buttons.
Next is the M.M.O mouse which features a lightweight body and will come with a multitude of buttons that will support as many as 60 programmable commands. It has a sensitivity of 8,200 DPI and what appears to be a braided cord, which should appeal to gamers who might prefer such cords versus their rubber counterparts.
The keyboard and mouse are currently up for pre-order and have a shipping date set for the 30th of September. The keyboard has been priced at $149.49 while the mouse has been set at $79.99, so for more information, head on over to the Mad Catz store for the details.
