The report claims that their sources have informed them that Apple’s suppliers are only expected to begin sending their component to Apple’s assembly partners starting this September. What this means is that assembly of the iWatch is only expected to kick off in September at the earliest and is also expected to take months before they have enough units for sale.
This is also barring any potential issues that might arise during the assembly process that could further delay the iWatch’s release. The report goes on to add that suppliers would at best be able to churn out 1 million iWatch units per month which definitely falls far below initial expectations of 10 million units by the end of the year.
So while there is a small chance the iWatch could go on sale this year, its availability could be severely constrained and would most probably begin to ease up in 2015. Either way take it with a grain of salt for now, but we’ll definitely keep our eyes peeled for more information, so be sure to check back with us at a later date for the details!
