Last week, we did bring you word on how Huawei has begun to tease the masses concerning an upcoming product release or announcement that is set to happen this coming September 4th in Berlin, Germany, as IFA 2014 kicks off. Well, what is the point of having an event if no one is going to be there? This means invites will need to be sent out, which is something the folks over at Huawei have already done, as you can see in the image above.
The invite does point to the very real possibility that the next version of the Ascend Mate will arrive with a fingerprint scanner. It is tipped that there will be a couple of models that this handset comes in – one with a 6” 1,440 x 2,560 QHD display, while the other will carry a similarly sized display, albeit with a pixel resolution count that has been toned down to 1,080 x 1,920, that is, Full HD.
Regardless, it is said that both models will be powered by Huawei’s very own Kirin 920 processor, with one unit carrying 2GB RAM, while the other would be a real powerhouse with 3GB RAM. Expect shared hardware specifications to include a 13MP shooter at the back with a 5MP camera in front, while other connectivity options are LTE, Wi-Fi, NFC and Bluetooth 4.0.
