Well as it turns out, Microsoft’s acquisition of Nokia’s cellphone division was one of the reasons why HTC had such a long lapse in between the release of the HTC 8X and the HTC One M8 for Windows. This was revealed by HTC’s USA chief, Jason Mackenzie in a recent interview with the folks over at CNET.
According to Mackenzie, they were mainly waiting to see how Microsoft’s acquisition of Nokia would affect the landscape before they moved forward. “We were waiting to see how the relationship would take shape. Then there was the acquisition and a regime change at Microsoft. We weren’t sure what their strategy was going to be.”
It sounds like a pretty fair reason but either way at the end of the day, we guess the customers are the ones who win as they will be getting for themselves a mighty impressive handset not just in hardware specs, but in build quality as well. What do you guys think? Was the wait worth it?
