The HTC 8X and the HTC 8S are pretty old as far as Windows Phone handsets are concerned. They were both released in 2012, although HTC did promise that both handsets would be receiving the highly-anticipated Windows Phone 8.1 update. Unfortunately while the Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 has been making its rounds, there have been reports by many HTC users that they are not receiving theirs.
According to the folks at Windows Phone Central, the reports are coming in from all over the place, such as emails as well as on their forums. They claim that so far they have only received the smaller 8.10.12400.899 update that was part of the 8.10.14147.180 Update 1 download for other phones.
For those unfamiliar, Update 1 adds on the Windows Phone 8.1 update, and while it is probably not as revolutionary or as big as the Windows Phone 8.1 update itself, the fact remains that there are some features that Windows Phone users would like to have. It is unclear as to why there might be a delay in the release of Update 1, but hopefully HTC/Microsoft will not be leaving HTC 8X/8S owners out of the loop.
In the meantime have any of our readers with either the HTC 8X or the HTC 8S received their Update 1 notification yet? Do let us know in the comments below!
