We’re sure there are probably more than a few Facebook users who were a bit miffed when the social network giant decided to do away with the messaging feature in the Facebook app, instead requiring users to download the standalone Facebook Messenger app if they wished to chat with their friends on Facebook for mobile.
Well if you think that this is a bit of an inconvenience, you might be pleased to learn that Facebook Messenger has recently added support for Android Wear, meaning that you will be able to receive your Facebook messages on your smartwatch. This is great for those who weren’t thrilled about being forced to download a standalone app, so we guess now you can reply to messages via your smartwatch.
Prior to this, you would still get your Facebook Messenger notifications on your smartwatch, but with the update, additional support is available and users will be able to reply directly or dictate a message if you’d rather not try to type on your smartwatch’s small display. As expected, the update includes bug fixes, improvements, and whatnot, so even if you don’t have Android Wear, you should be able to reap some of the benefits anyway.
If you have yet to download or update your app, you can do so by heading on over to the Google Play Store for the free download.
