It was Friday itself – the very day when Microsoft recommended users to download the latest updates for Windows 7 and 8, that Microsoft also introduced a hotfix for Internet Explorer. The support article claimed that “web applications that implement consecutive modal dialog boxes may cause Internet Explorer to become slow and unresponsive over time.”
In other words, Microsoft rolled out this particular hotfix for all major versions of Internet Explorer in the market, where they range from version 7 all the way to version 11. This is one of the rare exceptions where users who have decided to remain up to date where Internet Explorer is concerned being penalized, especially those who have updated the MS14-037 or MS14-051 cumulative security updates. Well, at the very least, Microsoft was aware of the situation and has since fixed this issue.
