There’s no doubt that BlackBerry loyalists have been waiting patiently for the Passport to drop. The company itself has revealed a lot of details about the device which is due to be formally unveiled at an event in London next month. BlackBerry Passport is expected to hit the market soon after its launch though the exact release date is not known. A retailer in UK jumped the gun by posting its hands-on video of the Passport. It did pull the video but since this is the internet after all, the video remains online and reveals details that were previously unknown.

If you were wondering, Carphone Warehouse is the retailer in question that made the video public ahead of time. The video explains several features of the Passport as well and also demonstrates how the device’s keyboard doubles as a trackpad.

As per the video BlackBerry Passport has a 2.3GHz quadcore processor, presumably a Qualcomm chip, though its not mentioned. We also find out that the rear camera is 10 megapixels and that the device is made out of stainless steel. There’s a dedicated hardware button on the right side which when pressed activates BlackBerry Assistant, the company’s own Siri rival.

Do take a gander and see if the BlackBerry Passport dawns on you. The company expects that its unusual form factor may entice consumers to purchase the Passport while feedback from its loyalists shows that they’ll flock to buy one anyway.
