The company had first confirmed a few months back that soon it will launch an Android Wear based smartwatch. Asus will offer it at a competitive price in order to undercut the likes of Samsung Gear Live and the LG G Watch. The company has already been generating hype for its upcoming wearable device and today it has posted a short teaser video online, giving us a glimpse at its first Android Wear smartwatch.
While this teaser does not reveal the smartwatch’s design, it appears that the Asus ZenWatch isn’t going to have a round design, which appears to be all the rage these days. Asus might stick with the tried and tested square or rectangular design for its new wearable device.
Motorola is the first company that showed off its round Android Wear smartwatch. The design is likely to be appreciated by consumers because the wearable device actually looks much more like a traditional timepiece. Now LG is believed to be working on a similar product of its own, and so is Samsung.
Asus has already planned a press conference for September 3rd. It will finally show off the ZenWatch and all of its other products at IFA 2014, which takes place in Berlin next month.
