According to an earlier report, word has it that one of the new features that Apple could be introducing with the iPhone 6 is a new Lightning cable with a reversible USB connector. What this means is that unlike current USB connectors which can only fit in one way, the new reversible USB connectors will allow users to plug it into their computers any direction, like the Lightning cable itself.
Well if you’re wondering how that works, a new video from Sonny Dickson has surfaced, showing just how the reversible USB connector will work. It pretty works just as expected, but if you were curious as to how it looks like and functions in real life, we guess this short video should be good enough to give you an idea of what to expect.
That being said, we expect that this new Lightning cable will become more or less a standard for future iOS devices, although it will most likely be starting with the new iPhone 6, which according to the rumors should be due for an announcement in the next month or so. The idea of a reversible USB connector is not new and an Apple patent has revealed the Cupertino company’s plans in the past, although it looks like it will now be made a reality.
