Alleged iPad Air 2 Photos Reveal Redesigned Speakers
We expect that later this year, Apple will refresh both the iPad Air and the iPad mini. Chances are given that the iPad Air is a redesign of its predecessor, there is a good chance that Apple could be leaving the design of the iPad Air alone, or are they? Well thanks to a source from China, a few photos have surfaced which purportedly shows off the iPad Air 2’s shell.
As you can see in the image above, the design of the iPad Air 2 is similar to the original iPad Air. It looks thin and has curved edges, much like its predecessor and the iPad mini, assuming of course these photos are the real deal. However as you can see in the photos below, the speaker arrangement has changed.
Instead of a double row of speaker grills, Apple has instead chosen to go with a longer single row of speaker holes instead. We’re not sure whether this will have a significant impact on speaker quality and volume, or if there is a reason for the redesign, but so far that seems to be the only difference in its overall design.
According to the rumors, Apple’s next-generation of iPads are expected to incorporate the Touch ID sensor found on the iPhone 5s. Rumors from last year suggested that they might make it into the first-gen iPad Air and iPad mini with Retina display, but safe to say that did not happen. Either way take it with a grain of salt for now, but what do you guys think?
