The all new Foursquare was revealed just yesterday, and in such a short matter of time, this latest update to the app has seen a whopping 15 million “tastes” in a matter of just 24 hours. Yes sir, this is quite an achievement really, with the new Foursquare app starting off with just a relative pittance of 25,000 “taste” keywords in the first place.
What are “tastes” in the new Foursquare app all about? Well, it is basically a repository of user submitted tips (aka reviews), where “tastes” are used to check out the most useful tips. These basically allow you to inform the app of what you would like, where they then function as tags or keywords to pinpoint the different venues which might suit your tastebuds – or liking.
Apparently, the first 24 hours of the new Foursquare app’s debut has seen more than 15 million tastes to user profiles. In a nutshell, the more people who make use of it, the better and more accurate it will get, boasting of a snowball effect. Considering how the recommendation engine does work pretty well by itself, it could probably lead to better results in due time. Have you downloaded the new Foursquare app already? If you haven’t done so, what are you waiting for? [Press Release]
