There have already been many rumors about an “iPad Pro,” an Apple tablet that has a 12.9-inch display however there’s little evidence to support the assumption that it might be released in 2014. A report published today claims that the 12.9-inch iPad is still on the cards but not for this year. Apparently the company is going to release this significantly larger tablet in the first few months of 2015.
This will be Apple’s largest iPad to date. The tablets that it offers currently feature a 9.7-inch display and a 7.9-inch display. Citing “people with knowledge of the matter,” Bloomberg reports that the new iPad is going to have a display measuring 12.9-inches diagonally.
The people cited in this report have not been named apparently because they asked not be identified. What did say that Apple has been working with suppliers for over a year just to develop tablets with larger displays. This is said to be CEO Tim Cook’s effort who is looking to shake up Apple’s tablet line.
The report doesn’t include any information about the specifications of this 12.9-inch tablet or details about its design. It does reiterate recent reports that iPhone 6 launch is slated for September 9th and that two new models with 4.7-inch and a 5.5-inch display will be unveiled.
