XOLO of India has just introduced its first Windows Phone device, or so many would think that way, calling it the Win Q900s. The XOLO Win Q900s is proud to boast itself to be the lightest smartphone in the world, where it tips the scales at just 100 grams, although it is with a ‘world’s lightest smartphone’, weighing just 100g, Basically, the Win Q900s is a smartphone that runs on Windows Phone instead of Android, that is the XOLO Q900s.
While this particular device hit the market with Snapdeal before it made its way over to Flipkart, it seems that there is a hiccup somewhere along the way. Apparently, folks who placed an order for the XOLO Win Q900s from Flipkart discovered to their dismay (or otherwise, who knows?) that their smartphone was on the receiving end of a device that ran Android 4.3 Jelly Bean as the mobile operating system version instead of Windows Phone as originally expected.
It would not be too difficult to see how this mistake came about – both the XOLO Q900s and Win Q900s happen to look exactly alike, in addition to sharing close hardware specifications such as a quad-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 chipset, 1GB RAM, 8GB of internal memory that can be expanded via a microSD memory card slot, an 8MP shooter at the back, a 2MP shooter in front, and a 4.7” IPS LCD display at 960 x 540 resolution on Android, although the Windows Phone version sports HD resolution at 1280 x 720 pixels.
Those affected can return the Android-powered Q900s for free to Flipkart, and hopefully receive the Win Q900s real soon.
