With so many changes being made, we’re sure some of you guys are a little worried about the current services and products Microsoft has to offer. What else could Microsoft be giving the axe? Well there was some doubts over Xbox Music and Xbox Video, but if you’re a fan of either service, you can rest assured knowing that both are here to stay, as confirmed by Microsoft’s Joe Belfiore.
According to Belfiore, he reassured users of Xbox Music and Xbox Video that Microsoft will not be dropping either service. “Don’t worry, no plan to drop Xbox Music/Video– my team builds these key scenarios for tablets, phones, PCs!” He later adds that they will actually be releasing an Xbox Music update soon. “In fact, we have one of our bigger/stronger Xbox Music updates just a couple weeks away…you’re gonna like it.”
Doubts about either service rose during the course of Microsoft’s huge changes, and a recent statement by Microsoft’s CEO Satya Nadella that seemed to hint at it. “With our decision to specifically focus [Xbox] on gaming, we expect to close Xbox entertainment studios and streamline our investments in music and video.” In any case hopefully Belfiore has managed to assuage your doubts, but would any of you guys be upset if Microsoft had shut down Xbox Music and Xbox Video?
