We know that devices like the Sony Xperia Z2 and the Samsung Galaxy S5 have been designed with certain protective features in mind that would make them resistant to water and dust. Not completely protected, but still good enough to take the occasional accidental dunk without your heart skipping a beat.
The LG G3 on the other hand has not been advertised the same way, but interestingly enough a video has surfaced on YouTube in which its creator, Harris Craycraft, decide to put the LG G3 to the test to see if it was water resistant. As it turns out, it is! Craycraft basically took the phone, ran it under water, submerged it for a couple of hours, and surprise surprise, the phone continued to work just fine.
However we should point out that Craycraft did not show whether the LG G3’s USB or speakers were damaged in the process, especially since these are openings in the handset where water would be able to seep in and damage the components. While we do not recommend you to take your LG G3 swimming or deep sea diving, at the very least this video can reassure LG G3 owners that if and when they spill water on their device, it won’t be the end of the world.
So, is anyone as surprised as we are?
