Based on Sony’s release schedule, there is a good chance that later this year we might be able to hear from Sony regarding a new flagship handset in the form of the Xperia Z3. Now we have seen alleged leaked photos but if you were looking for more proof, it seems that a certain Sony D6603 has been spotted at the FCC.
If you’re wondering what the Sony D6603 is, well according to previous rumors and speculation, the D6603 is apparently the Sony Xperia Z3, although we guess we don’t really have any way of proving that save for Sony themselves actually announcing it officially. That being said, at the very least we know that there is a Sony device at the FCC.
Unfortunately the FCC listing does not tell us much about the device, so apart from a sighting we guess we don’t really have much to go on. However based on the rumors, the Sony Xperia Z3 is expected to be a slightly more powerful version of the Xperia Z2 that was launched earlier this year.
It is said to feature a 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset and will apparently pack the same 20.7MP camera as its predecessor. Interestingly enough the rumors also claim that the Xperia Z3 will not be upgraded to a QHD display, so it looks like customers can expect the same Full HD display instead. In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but do check back with us later for more updates.
