In 2013, Sony announced the QX10 and QX100. These are lens style cameras that attach to mobile phones, thus allowing the phone to capture better quality photos and videos, as well as give them a bit more control, at least compared to most camera apps. It was an interesting idea and it seems that Sony could be planning a follow-up.
This is according to a screenshot obtained by Sony Alpha Rumors that basically shows that the device has recently been registered for in Korea at the RRA agency. The name QX30 was mentioned and from what we understand, it’s the same device that we talked about back in June.
Just in case you missed the news, the QX30 is said to be a new QX device from Sony. The rumors are claiming that the QX30 will sport a massive 30x zoom so if you’re really into zoom cameras, then perhaps the QX30 will be for you. Unfortunately they did not mention as to when we might be able to expect the QX30, but hopefully its registration is a sign that we are not too far off from any announcement.
However until we hear from Sony officially, do take it with a grain of salt for now, but do check back with us at a later date for the details. In the meantime is anyone else looking forward to a new QX device from Sony?
