Unfortunately not much is known about the A5100 for now since this is the first that we have heard of it. Based on the model number, chances are it might not necessarily be a very huge upgrade, especially since its predecessor was only announced earlier this year. However we will be keeping our eyes and ears peeled for more information regarding the device, so do check back with us at a later date for the details.
In the meantime, here are the Sony A5000’s specs, just to give you guys some context and also perhaps see which areas Sony could be updating. The A5000 packs a 21.5MP APS-C sized sensor and is powered by Sony’s BIONZ X processor. The processor is the same one used in cameras like the Sony A7 and A7R.
It will also pack a 3-inch TFT LCD display that is able to be flipped up 180 degrees, so for those looking to take selfies, this might come in handy. The camera will also feature WiFi and NFC connectivity for wireless transfer of photos and videos. The A5000 comes with a 16-50mm kit lens so chances are the A5100 might do too.
