Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini Has Been Officially Announced
According to the rumors, Samsung is working on a Galaxy S5 mini that could be launched in July. Well it looks like the rumors were right as Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy S5 mini. The handset is expected to debut in Russia early July before it makes its way to other markets in the middle of the month. It is also expected to be priced at around $650, although we’re guessing this price will depend on which market it launches in.
Now for those who are wondering about its specs, here they are. The Galaxy S5 mini will feature a 4.5-inch HD display with a resolution of 1280×720. Not exactly the sharpest display around, but given its 4.5-inch display we guess it won’t be too bad. It will also be powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz. Samsung did not mention which processor would be powering the device, but it has been speculated that it will be a Samsung Exynos 3470.
The phone will also be accompanied by 1.5GB of RAM, an 8MP rear-facing camera, a 2.1MP front-facing camera, 16GB of onboard storage expandable via microSD, the usual WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, and there will also be an LTE model that will pack NFC connectivity as well. The phone will also come with a 2,100mAh battery.
While the Galaxy S5 mini does not share the same high-end specs as its Galaxy S5 sibling, it will come with some of the same features, such as a fingerprint sensor built into the home button of the phone, and it will be IP67 certified, making it both water and dust-resistant. So, any takers?
