The Galaxy Avant isn’t the most high-end smartphone we’ve seen from Samsung or T-Mobile, but considering that the handset will cost customers $9 a month over 24 months, or $216 if they were to buy it outright, we guess we can’t really complain.
According to T-Mobile, the Samsung Galaxy Avant will sport a 4.5-inch qHD display and will be powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz. It will also be accompanied by 1.5GB of RAM and will come bundled with certain Samsung software features, such as S Voice and Smart Switch which allows users to transfer the content from their previous device onto the Galaxy Avant.
Interestingly enough there is no mention of an unlocking app, which is one of the rumored features of the handset. For those unfamiliar, the unlocking app is said to allow users to unlock their cellphones at a touch of a button, as opposed to the more long-winded method which will involve the user calling the carrier. In any case for those interested in picking up the device, it will be available starting from today.
