Now spam is a pretty common occurrence and we don’t think too much about it and just end up deleting them. However it seems that according to reports, 47% of SMS spam received in New York in the past couple of months have been attributed to iMessage spam, which is actually pretty astounding given how precise the targeting has been.
We also reckon that due to the fact that iMessage is free, as long as you own an iOS device, it makes it easier for the spammer to send out their messages. Now the good news is that you can block the message if you want to. All you’d have to do is go to Contact -> Block this caller and you’re good to go.
Alternatively you can forward the spam to Apple who will help take action on your behalf. If you have received iMessage spam recently related to this, just forward it on over to Apple by sending it to 7726.
