Now in a bid to entice more gamers to purchase the console, OUYA has announced that they will be introducing a new all-access plan which they believe will help increase its user base. For those wondering what the new plan is about, well it’s basically a limited-time yearly subscription in which gamers can fork out $60 a year to unlock every game in the OUYA library.
However there are some caveats and that is the all-access pass will only work on games that cost below $30. It will also not include downloadable content, such as extra lives, power-ups, cosmetics, and so on. Essentially gamers can look forward to the core game, but anything extra you will have to pay on top of the $60 annual subscription fee.
According to a statement OUYA made to Ars Technica, “For the price of one console game, players receive access to the entire OUYA catalog of more than 800 titles for a full year. It’s just one of many things we’re exploring to give players the best value and developers the best visibility. Results of this test will dictate if/how we proceed with an official subscription program.”
