nokia-by-microsoft-lumia-830

There has been sufficient chatter over the past couple of weeks about Microsoft launching a new Lumia smartphone in the near future. Some people are more interested in knowing how the company intends to brand its new crop of devices. Even though Microsoft has a license to use the Nokia brand some believe that it will introduce new branding for its smartphones. We’ve heard that “Nokia by Microsoft” might make the cut and now it has been seen plastered on the back of a purported Lumia 830 press render.

This isn’t the first leaked picture of the Lumia 830 that we have seen. Just last week a couple of pictures leaked from China though interestingly there was no Nokia by Microsoft branding on that particular device.

The Lumia 830 reportedly has an aluminum frame with a polycarbonate back cover. It may not be full aluminum construction but perhaps that may not bother customers who go for this mid-range smartphone that much. Unfortunately not a lot of information is available about the specifications of this device right now so its unclear exactly what the power package is under the hood.

Microsoft is now in the business of making smartphones given that it has acquired Nokia’s devices and services business earlier this year. So far the company has not shied away from using the Nokia or Lumia brand, and with Nokia’s instant brand recognition in the global market, perhaps its a good choice to go with Nokia by Microsoft.
