If you’re a fan of scary video games, then you might be pleased to learn that Nintendo and Koei Tecmo have recently unveiled the first trailer for the upcoming Fatal Frame title that is expected to make its way onto the Nintendo Wii U console. The game is expected to see a release in Japan come the 27th of November, but unfortunately there is no telling when it will see a release stateside or in other parts of the world.
For those unfamiliar with the Fatal Frame series, it’s basically a horror game in which the player is tasked to take photographs of a haunted location to reveal the secrets of the place. Unlike other horror games that have guns, knives, and weapons, Fatal Frame’s goal seems to be more about scaring the player silly, but it’s still pretty awesome anyway.
According to Koei Tecmo, the latest title will introduce a new character that players control called Kozukata Yuuri. This is a girl who has the ability to see spirits who have been taken into the “Ghost World”, and she also has the ability to bring said spirits back into the real world. The company also goes on to state that this Fatal Frame title will be the company’s largest release to date.
As expected, the game will take advantage of the Wii U GamePad which will act as a camera to allow the gamer to take photographs of the spirits. In some ways it reminds us of ZombiU, a Wii U title that took advantage of the Wii U’s GamePad as well. In any case if you have a few minutes to spare, you can check out the trailer in the video above.
