There have been talks in the past about how Apple could be interested in the idea of a hybrid device, like a MacBook laptop with a touchscreen display which we guess combines the best of an iPad with a MacBook. While it remains to be seen if Apple will actually launch such a product, in the meantime you might be interested in taking a look at the Modbook Pro X.
The Modbook Pro X is a tablet device that is based on the internals of the 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro. What this means is that the tablet will be powered by OS X 10.10 Yosemite and will also pack a Retina display of 2,880×1,800, so if you wanted a more full-fledged operating system for your tablet, perhaps this could be the answer to your problems.
There are various configurations offered for the Modbook Pro X, including some of the specs that was part of the recent MacBook Pro refresh, like a 2.8GHz chipset. The tablet will also support up to 32GB of RAM and up to 2TB of flash storage. The tablet even comes with programmable keys on the back of the device, allowing users to navigate the tablet and execute commands effortlessly.
There is even a Keyboard Stand that effectively transforms the Modbook Pro X into a laptop of sorts. Unfortunately all the modifications does not come cheap and it will be priced at a whopping $3,999 for the basic version. The Modbook Pro X is currently a Kickstarter project seeking funding, so if you’d like to learn more, head on over to its Kickstarter page for the details.
