However it seems that Microsoft is planning on doing something about it, which is why hosting an event that will be held in Tokyo on the 27th of July called Nokia Con. Basically it’s an event that will show off Nokia Lumia Windows Phone handsets and provide attendees with hands-on experiences with the Windows Phone platform, in hopes that it will make converts out of a few of them.
The event will be hosted by mobile phone market expert, Yamane Yasuhiro, and will be limited to 60 attendees. The good news is that registration for the event is free, so for our readers in Japan who’d like to attend, you can register yourselves here, assuming that there are still spaces available.
It is unclear what Nokia handsets Microsoft will be sharing at the event or if they plan on making Nokia Con an annual event, but for now Microsoft is being rather conservative with the event but hopefully it will be successful enough to make a lasting impression on attendees who might have otherwise not considered the platform.
