Larger 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Expected To Face Some Delays [Rumor]

iphone6-leak-7Earlier rumors of the larger 5.5-inch iPhone 6 had been rumored to be pushed to a release in either late 2014 or early 2015. However more recent rumors had suggested that both phones would enter into production at the same time, but the 5.5-inch model would be limited in supply, but would otherwise would be on track for an October release.

However according to the latest report from KGI Securities analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, he claims that he believes that Apple will be delaying the launch of the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 model. This is apparently because there are issues with the in-cell touch panel and coloring of the device, which means that the launch of the iPhone 6 could be pushed to after October and possibly into early 2015.

He notes that these are issues that are apparently affecting the 4.7-inch model, but due to the device’s smaller stature, it will apparently be easier to solve compared to the 5.5-inch model, so chances are the 4.7-inch model will be on track, but the 5.5-inch model could be delayed. Kuo also notes that when the larger iPhone 6 eventually ships, there could be less than 15-20 million units available at the start, hinting at supply constraints.

Of course none of this is official, but given that Kuo has accurately predicted Apple-related product launches in the past, perhaps there is some truth to his claims. Either way take it with a grain of salt for now, but hopefully more information will be made available in the next few months, so check back with us then for the details.
