Now for those who love the Kinect and its potential, it seems that the second-generation Kinect for Windows will be available come 15th July. This is according to an updated Kinect listing on Microsoft’s website which revealed that those who pre-order the accessory can look forward to it shipping on the 15th of July.
The Kinect for Windows has been priced at $200 which is admittedly pretty expensive for a peripheral, but if you love the idea of using gestures to interact with your computer and various applications, perhaps it could be worth your consideration. The second-gen Kinect is expected to offer better depth sensing and 1080p resolution, a wider field of view, and other improvements.
Microsoft has also invited developers to publish more applications to the Windows Store that would take advantage of the Kinect, so hopefully there will be something there that you can use. So, anyone placing their pre-order?
