We’re pretty sure that many of you guys are excited at the upcoming iOS 8, not so much for the visual changes (which are basically improvements over iOS 7), but at some of the new features and changes that Apple will be making to its mobile operating system. That being said, it looks like the rumors were right as Apple has since released iOS 8 Beta 4 to developers.
According to the folks at MacRumors, Beta 4 for iOS 8 does not appear to have any major changes made to it. Instead there are some minor interface tweaks and modifications that they claim makes the operating system feel more polished and faster, but we guess we will have to try it out for ourselves in order to make a more objective observation.
For starters, iOS 8 Beta 4 has introduced the Tips app. This basically helps guide new iOS users in using the platform. It was hinted at during WWDC 2014 back in June and Apple is expected to release new tips on how to use iOS 8 on a weekly basis, so if you were thinking of gifting an iPhone or iPad to someone who has no clue, the Tips feature could come in handy.
MacRumors has also noted some visual changes to the Control Center. Instead of the buttons featuring a black outline, the outline has since been removed, giving it a cleaner look that blends in with the background. There has also been changes made to Messages, such as the Talk-to-Text option which will now display spoken text in real time, as opposed to waiting for an entire message to be completed.
We expect Apple will be getting ready to release iOS 8 in the fall, possibly alongside the release of their new iPhones, but either way we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled regarding more information about iOS 8, so do check back with us later for the details.
