The iOS 8 beta program is well underway. Its first beta was seeded on June 2nd and the second beta came two weeks later. There was a rumor that the third beta would be released in the first week of July and that has turned out to be true. iOS 8 beta 3 download is available right now through the developers portal. Those who already have a previous beta version installed will receive iOS 8 beta 3 over-the-air.
iOS 8 builds up on the foundation that Apple laid with iOS 7 which brought one of the biggest user interface and user experience changes for the platform. It introduces a host of new features as well as user interface tweaks. The changes were detailed during Apple’s keynote on the first day of WWDC 2014.
The public release of iOS 8 is slated for this fall. Before then the beta program aims to ensure that by launch the software is completely free from bugs and any issues. Developers have been tinkering around with the software for almost a month now and the release of the third beta shows that progress has been made.
The full changelog hasn’t been posted online as yet though the brief description of this update reads that it primarily contains bug fixes and improvements. Beta software is only meant for registered developers so currently only they have the privilege of playing around with iOS 8. The rest of us would have to wait until the fall.
