HTC One (M8) For Windows Could Be New Name

It was just yesterday when we talked about how Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer HTC has not yet thrown in the towel when it comes to a version of the HTC One smartphone that will run on the Windows Phone platform. However, just what kind of name should they call it to make it easily identifiable, not to mention easier to write about when reporting on it? Surely a play on the name HTC One M8 would be ideal, and I would most probably go for HTC One W8 – simple and straight to the point. However, it seems that at this point in time, HTC is going to go ahead with “One (M8) for Windows.”

This is not going to be easily pronounceable right off the bat, that is for sure. Apart from the name One (M8) for Windows at the moment, what other things do we know about the device? Well, it would most probably retain many of the similar hardware features that can be found on the Android-powered version, ranging from its depth-sensing Duo camera to its BoomSound speakers.

Apart from that, it is expected for the One (M8) for Windows to support voice over LTE, which means Windows Phone users will be able to enjoy even better call quality in due time. It remains to be seen whether VoLTE will be made available upon shipping, but the upcoming Windows Phone 8.1’s GDR1 revision ought to deliver such support when released.
