The HP Slate 17 apparently boasts of a 17.2” display at 1,920 x 1,080 pixel resolution, where it will run on an Intel Celeron N2807 dual-core Bay Trail processor, sport 2GB RAM, accompanied by 32GB of internal memory, has Android 4.4 KitKat right out of the box, alongside Wi-Fi connectivity and a front-facing camera, although you can forget about a camera at the back, Bluetooth support, or GPS capability.
This does seem to place the HP Slate 17 to be more of a desktop monitor than anything else, where it can also double up as a standalone device which is Android-powered as and when required – especially when there is no computer plugged within. Well, it remains to be seen how much this bad boy will cost when it eventually rolls out, but hopefully it will be affordable enough for the masses!
