Not to mention it is also free, so if you don’t need to full functionality of Microsoft Word, Google Docs is a great alternative. That being said, Google is hoping to lure more users of Microsoft Word onto their platform. They have recently made some changes to Google Docs that will basically convert Word’s tracked changes into Suggested Edits.
This means that if you were to convert to Google Docs, those changes will show up as well in the form of Google’s Suggested Edits. This should help ease the transition process and allow groups/teams to get right back into where they left off, instead of trying to figure out who changed what, who added/deleted items, and so on.
Will this be a good enough reason for Microsoft Word users to jump ship to Google? Well we guess it remains to be seen, but for now if you were looking to make the switch, hopefully this is one of the changes you’ve been looking forward to.
