Flappy Bird Clone Flopsy Droid Arrives For Android Wear

Just in case you missed all the fuss in the earlier part of the year, there was a mobile game that was making its rounds that seemed to be played by almost everyone. It was called Flappy Bird and it made use of retro-looking graphics and a relatively simply gameplay, which basically tasked the player to keep the bird afloat while dodging obstacles to rack up the highest points possible.

The deceptively difficult game was later pulled, but not before it spawned countless clones. Now if you enjoyed Flappy Bird and you are still enjoying it on your mobile device, you might be interested to learn that it has made its way onto Android Wear devices, albeit in clone form dubbed Flopsy Droid.

The game will mimic Flappy Bird’s gameplay and graphics, save for the character itself which will feature the Android mascot. It will also be shrunken down in order to fit the screens of Android Wear devices, like the LG G Watch and the Samsung Gear Live. The game itself is free for download via the Google Play Store and was created by German computer science student, Sebastien Mauer.

We’re not sure how well it would fare playing on such a small device, not to mention the fact that smartwatches do not have the best battery life makes playing games on it seem a little risky, but we guess if you’re looking for a way to pass some time or just for the novelty value, it could be worth checking out.
