The LG G Watch has certainly garnered its fair share of attention in recent times, and we do realize that it also ranks pretty high on the repairability scale according to the folks over at iFixit. Well, what other kinds of news can the LG G Watch muster this time around? It has already received the first customer Android Wear ROM, and boy did it not take too long for something like this to happen. As the bootloader happens to be unlockable, while the LG G Watch makes use of fastboot, developer jakeday managed to come up with the Gohma ROM rather than use his time to figure out a way to unlock the LG G Watch and gain access to the system.
So far, there has been no source code released for the custom Android Wear ROM, but we do keep our fingers crossed that it will be based off the stock firmware. According to the developer, this custom Android Wear ROM will be able to offer improved battery life as well as performance, although that remains to be seen by the other LG G Watch owners who are willing to give it a go. Would you muddle around with Android Wear when it comes to custom ROMs?
