Contactless Payments To Launch This September 16

Do you think that contactless payments would be the face of the future when it comes to performing transactions? After all, that is why credit cards exist in the first place, so that you carry around less cash, not to mention the Visa payWave feature letting you pay for your purchases without holding up the line. Well, Transport for London (TfL) has announced that this September 16th, your bank card will be able to send you through the Tube, Overground and DLR stations smoothly and without any hassle.

Not only that, there is also the added advantage of not having to top it up at all – since it will debit the amount directly from whatever balance that your bank account has. There is, however, a daily cap on travel charges that are already in place, while all kinds of contactless payment will also be under a new weekly cap (which runs from Monday to Sunday). Not only that, record keepers will be pleased to hear that the entire journey and payment history can be retrieved through an online account, similar to how your registered Oyster card works at the moment.
